Wearing Face Masks and Breakouts:

If like me you are struggling with the “new normal” you may also me struggling with skin breakouts because of wearing the face masks….
With the rising heat and half of our face being covered up with a mask it gets really hot & sweaty under the mask and this may be causing your skin to breakout…so how do we keep our skin clean & clear but stay safe by wearing our masks?
I suggest when possible to not wear any makeup underneath, or at least just something light like my favorite BY Terry cc serum, sunny flash…this gives a light and glowing cover but let’s the skin shine through and breathe. Of course we should always protect the skin on our faces and so you should apply a lightweight spf 50 underneath…Dermalogica have a fantastic range of spf that will not clog your skin and will also give you the sun protection that we need all year round.
Because we are only showing the top half of our faces, I would recommend highlighting the eye area.
Make sure your brows are well groomed…they can literally lift your face and take years off your appearance.
Start by brushing your brows upwards, if you need to trim any hairs above the brow line do so and then pluck underneath. Then try a brow gel to keep them in place, I love blink ultimate.  A little brown Smokey eyeliner and lashings of mascara will definitely make your eyes pop!
I’m currently loving Charlotte tilbury for anything to do with eyes! Cult beauty stock her range and you can order online, they offer free delivery over a min spend and often have fantastic discounts too.
At the end of the day when the mask can finally come off, it’s really important to make sure your skin is then washed and clean, remember it’s been coved up and now needs to breath !
Wash your face first with a oil remover and then a non stripping but good cleanser…again I’m loving Dermalogica for good results but still gentle on the skin…so yes a double cleanse is the way to go to keep your skin in tip top condition, then a quick spritz of a fresh toner ( no alcohol ).
Then I would suggest a light exfoliating product such as Alpha H liquid gold as it offers great skin smoothing results, and finally replenish with a light serum and moisturiser.
